Earlier on, we shared with you all the news that has to do with Runtown being sued by His Record label, well Runtown has responded with a letter to Ericmany, the record label that he is currently signed to, with letters from him and his attorneys claiming that he has never been paid royalties from digital records sales by Ericmany. According to the attached letters below, Ericmany boss Okwudili Umenyiora has also been alleged to threaten Runtown’s life on several occasions.
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has slammed an injunction against the rising musical artiste Douglas Jack-Agu aka “Runtown”. The injunction prevents him from performing at any event or any form of recording for the time being unless with the approval of Ericmany Limited.
Runtown who recently got an endorsement deal with Adidas is signed under the Ericmany Entertainment label that presently holds the copyright to all his music. He was sued in the Federal High Court by Ericmany on allegations that he signs up, concludes and attends musical shows without the knowledge of the label.
Ericmany Entertainment was said to have invested millions of naira on Runtown. However trouble started when Runtown apparently with the connivance of Bug Media ran by one Bugwu Aneto began to sideline Ericmany and collected money directly for shows without the knowledge of Ericmany. Bug Media is also a party to the court case.
In another twist of events, the management of Ericmany has sacked the said Bugwu Aneto as General Manager of the company for infractions which might not be unconnected with his alleged connivance with Runtown to shortchange the Label Ericamany.
Our reporter learnt that all inquiries about the artiste and bookings for shows would no longer be through Aneto but through the management of Ericmany.
It is not clear how the young artiste is reacting to the court case and injunction. Observers suggest he was misled by Bugwu, the former General Manager of Ericmany to ditch his boss and benefactor Ericmany, and may now that the chips are down find ways to go back and reconcile with the Ericmany.

2pac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, has died at the age of 69. The
Marin County Sheriff’s Office of northern California confirmed her death
Tuesday morning.
“Renown rap artist #Tupac Shakur’s mother Afeni Shakur Davis, age 69, died late last night in Marin County.”
Afeni Shakur, a political activist and member of the black
nationalist group Black Panther Party, has long been a visible presence
in both American public life and in Tupac’s music. She was famously arrested in 1969 along with other Black Panthers for conspiracy to bomb multiple New York City landmarks. She was acquitted in 1971 and gave birth to Tupac just one month later.
Afeni Shakur was also the subject of Tupac’s famous 1995 song “Dear Mama,” the
lead single from his third studio album, Me Against the World. The song
went platinum, peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot
100 chart, and was added to the National Recording Registry in the
Library of Congress in 2010. Shakur has also been the arbiter of Tupac’s
estate ever since his murder in 1996, and founded the Tupac Amaru
Shakur Foundation, which supports art programs for children.
#RipMamaPac also chck out the lyrics + video of the Song 2pac dedicated to his mom when he was alive below...
"Dear Mama"
You are appreciated
[Verse One: 2Pac]
When I was young me and my mama had beef
Seventeen years old kicked out on the streets
Though back at the time, I never thought I'd see her face
Ain't a woman alive that could take my mama's place
Suspended from school; and scared to go home, I was a fool
with the big boys, breakin all the rules
I shed tears with my baby sister
Over the years we was poorer than the other little kids
And even though we had different daddy's, the same drama
When things went wrong we'd blame mama
I reminisce on the stress I caused, it was hell
Huggin on my mama from a jail cell
And who'd think in elementary?
Heeey! I see the penitentiary, one day
And runnin from the police, that's right
Mama catch me, put a whoopin to my backside
And even as a crack fiend, mama
You always was a black queen, mama
I finally understand
for a woman it ain't easy tryin to raise a man
You always was committed
A poor single mother on welfare, tell me how ya did it
There's no way I can pay you back
But the plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated
[Chorus: Reggie Green & "Sweet Franklin" w/ 2Pac]
Lady...
Don't cha know we love ya? Sweet lady
Dear mama
Place no one above ya, sweet lady
You are appreciated
Don't cha know we love ya?
[second and third chorus, "And dear mama" instead of "Dear mama"]
[Verse Two: 2Pac]
Now ain't nobody tell us it was fair
No love from my daddy cause the coward wasn't there
He passed away and I didn't cry, cause my anger
wouldn't let me feel for a stranger
They say I'm wrong and I'm heartless, but all along
I was lookin for a father he was gone
I hung around with the Thugs, and even though they sold drugs
They showed a young brother love
I moved out and started really hangin
I needed money of my own so I started slangin
I ain't guilty cause, even though I sell rocks
It feels good puttin money in your mailbox
I love payin rent when the rent's due
I hope ya got the diamond necklace that I sent to you
Cause when I was low you was there for me
And never left me alone because you cared for me
And I could see you comin home after work late
You're in the kitchen tryin to fix us a hot plate
Ya just workin with the scraps you was given
And mama made miracles every Thanksgivin
But now the road got rough, you're alone
You're tryin to raise two bad kids on your own
And there's no way I can pay you back
But my plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated
[Chorus]
[Verse Three: 2Pac]
Pour out some liquor and I reminisce, cause through the drama
I can always depend on my mama
And when it seems that I'm hopeless
You say the words that can get me back in focus
When I was sick as a little kid
To keep me happy there's no limit to the things you did
And all my childhood memories
Are full of all the sweet things you did for me
And even though I act craaazy
I gotta thank the Lord that you made me
There are no words that can express how I feel
You never kept a secret, always stayed real
And I appreciate, how you raised me
And all the extra love that you gave me
I wish I could take the pain away
If you can make it through the night there's a brighter day
Everything will be alright if ya hold on
It's a struggle everyday, gotta roll on
And there's no way I can pay you back
But my plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated

The label already home to superstars like Kcee, Harrysong and Skiibii has just added a talented rapper to its camp.
The new signee, Okafor Golden Chinedu otherwise called Xbusta is a rapper, singer, song writer and all round entertainer who was born in Lagos on February 27, 1994.
It is gathered that Kcee first crossed part with Xbusta in Owerri back in 2012 but they lost contact till they met again this year and he was invited to perform at the Five Star Music festival in Lagos where the label boss, E-Money fell in love with his craft and talks began on how to sign him.
The 22-year old rapper began his music career professionally in Obalende, Lagos at a tender age as a studio rat where he mingled with the likes of Vector and General Pype. He then relocated to Owerri when he got admission into Imo state university where he studied Estate management and was also the director of socials of the university during his school days.

Following the broadcast, both the album and the accompanying ‘visual companion’ were put on TIDAL and are expected to be exclusive to Jay Z’s streaming service for the foreseeable future.
Speaking of Jay-Z, fans are concerned over the pair’s marital status as the album features lyrics such as “Who the f*ck do you think I am / You ain’t married to no average b*tch, boy” and “This is your final warning / You know I give you life / If you try this shit again you gon’ lose your wife”, both from the track “Don’t Hurt Yourself”.
However, the rapper features in the video for the track ‘Redemption, with footage of their wedding flashing between shots of other lovers.
Also featured on the album are the likes of Jack White, The Weeknd, Diplo, Kendrick Lamar and James Blake, while Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Soulja Boy, and MNEK are samples on the record. The record marks a huge feature for Blake, who has previously been worked with the likes of Kanye West, Frank Ocean and Chance the Rapper – all of whom have been associated with Beyoncé previously.
Following on the theme of the previously released single “Formation”, many songs take on a political theme, particularly in “Resurrection” in which, at one point in the video, the parents of Trayvon Martin are seen holding up photos of their son.
Lemonade marks another high-profile TIDAL exclusive; both Rihanna’s ANTI and Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo were released exclusively onto the service.
